IN-BETWEEN SPACES

The project In-Between Spaces is still undefined. Not so my fascination with what lies “in between”. The in-between — in space, time, perception, emotions, and thought — cannot be grasped. It is fluid, suspended. It thrives on the coexistence of opposites, on hidden possibilities, on the unspoken and the inexplicable. What happens to us in in-between spaces?

They are everywhere and nowhere. They often go unnoticed, only to suddenly and unexpectedly reveal themselves.

 

When photographing in and around these in-between spaces, I follow impulses, without a plan or a defined destination. And yet, I am always searching for those moments in which an in-between space reveals itself to me. Perhaps I am simply searching for an answer to what these spaces mean to me. Or perhaps I simply enjoy allowing everything in between to remain undefined. And even that remains uncertain.
